Welcome to Citrus College!
Founded in 1915 , Citrus College is a public college , intended for students of both sexes , which offers programs for two years. It is the oldest community college in Los Angeles County and the fifth oldest in California. Citrus College enjoys the reputation of a small, friendly college with a student population of over 12,000 students. The campus is located in Glendora, a quiet community near the foot of the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains.it is located approximately 26 miles northeast of the metropolitan city of Los Angeles .
Citrus College offers degrees at technical, college transfer programs , professional certificates and intensive program of English as a second language. There is an active student government on campus, various social clubs and college events, student organizations and activities fully with the college. Citrus College offers a variety of free support services, among which include academic and personal counseling, advice on obtaining a visa, transfers information and assistance, academic tutoring and career planning on. The International Student Center also provides assistance programs host families and organizes regular activities throughout the Southern California region.
Facilities
Students meet in the center of campus for organized activities, club meetings, to eat or just to relax with friends. The library of 60,000 volumes, comprising areas of study, computer workshops and exhibitions, is an excellent feature of the campus. The campus contains other excellent infrastructure, such as performing arts center fully equipped with capacity for 1,440 people, a study recently completed recording arts, a computer center with advanced technology and a variety of classrooms equipped with computers and buildings laboratories .
Fees and other costs
Costs were estimated for the 2013-2014 school years and these are subject to change. The tuition is $ 240 per semester unit. The total estimated amount (tuition, books, supplies, accommodation, living expenses and health insurance) needed for an academic year is $ 13,500 for the standard academic program and $ 15.500 for the Intensive English Program as a second language.
